Ms. Kate
Owner & Founder
Kate is the heart behind Forest Playgroup — a nature-based program rooted in connection, intention, and love. A devoted mother of three and a nurturing presence to many more, Kate has dedicated her life to supporting the growth of children and families through wholesome, earth-centered experiences. Before founding Forest Playgroup, Kate served as Regional Director and teacher at a nature school in North Carolina and held a seat on the Board of Directors for The Forest School Foundation of Asheville, NC. She is Wilderness First Aid, Forest Aid, and CPR certified through the Institute for Wild Med. With a soul-deep calling to foster healthy family dynamics and inspire the next generation through nature’s rhythm, Kate’s mission is to “plant the seeds” of Forest Playgroup programs throughout the country — bringing families closer to the Earth and to each other, one gathering at a time.

Hello, I’m Karyssa Tilden!
I’m a homeschooling mom of 3 girls! I’ve been teaching outdoor classes for 7 years with a mix of Nature Schools and Forest Schools, and I've even founded a beautiful nature school of my own as well. I have a passion for early childhood as well as nature immersion for all ages. I love mixing my outdoor skills with my Waldorf Early Childhood training to assist in parents bringing the most enriching experiences for their children! Children learn, grow, process, communicate and more through play… so let’s go play!
